There is a great deal of state and federal legislation pending that would affect businesses. Everything from the Employee Free Choice Act to the state budget. Which bills or laws or regulations concern you the most as a business owner or manager? We plan to soon to poll our members about their legislative or governmental concerns and share the collective results with our representatives in the statehouse and the US capital. But we welcome your help on the front end to identify which issues should be in the poll. You're right about it not being easy. I, too make an effort to buy American and buy locally every time I can. I am a local business owner(www.colorbarr.com)and I rely on others with this same attitude. When I buy my next HD camera, I'll buy from a dealer in Columbus instead of the big megastore in NY. But the camera will still come from Japan. I bought both of my cars (gmc & dodge) in Zanesville instead of going to Columbus for a little bit of a savings. But there are locally owned car dealerships that sell foreign cars. That means you could buy local but not be buying american. I liked the chambers gift certificates. I only used them once but should have done it more. I think they helped encourage people to buy locally. I would like to see them return.
